Screenings

Find out if you qualify for Healthy Start services by saying “yes” to Healthy Start screenings. Healthy Start screenings are simply a set of questions to determine if there are any risks that could affect your pregnancy and your baby’s growth or development such as:

• Developmental delays
• Fetal/infant death
• Health problems
• Low birth weight
• Pre-term birth

Just by completing a one-page questionnaire, you can become a Healthy Start participant. Your answers are kept confidential and used only to provide the best possible care for you and your baby.

Ask your doctor or nurse about the Healthy Start Risk Screenings.  Healthy Start services are provided through the Orange County Health Department with funding from Orange County Healthy Start Coalition. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call 407-254-6822.

Every prenatal care provider in the state of Florida is required to offer a Healthy Start screening to all pregnant women. All hospitals are required to offer a Healthy Start screening to every newborn.
