Changes to Eligibility Process

In order to make the Eligibility process more efficient and convenient for our clients, Eligibility services are now be available at program sites where health care services are provided.

Our Eligibility services include: determining Eligibility for specific programs and services, assessing clients' payment structure through a sliding fee scale, debt management referrals and assigning temporary Medicaid for eligible pregnant women. Eligibility services will now be available at the following locations:

  • Tuberculosis and Refugee Health - 4th Floor, Central Health Center, 407-836-2648
  • Sexually Transmitted Diseases - 4th Floor, Central Health Center, 407-836-2650
  • Dental Health - 4th Floor, Central Health Center, 407-836-2616
  • HIV and AIDS - 3rd Floor, Central Health Center, 407-836-9220
  • Diabetes and Epilepsy, 4th Floor, Central Health Center, 407-836-2660
  • Women's Health -
    • Central Health Center, 407-836-2817
    • Eastside Health Center, 407-858-1495
    • Lila Mitchell Health Center, 407-858-1496
    • Lake Underhill Family Health Center, 407-207-7590
    • Southside Health Center, 407-858-1424

The Eligibility Department serves clients by determining financial eligibility for the following programs and services:

The Eligibility Department determines financial eligibility, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, with the exception of those who are applying for financial eligibility determination for Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) and Tuberculosis (TB).

Persons with Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) and Tuberculosis (TB) will be seen on a walk-in basis everyday.

The Florida Department of Health in Orange County Eligibility Office is not a Medicaid Office. Health insurance application for Pregnant Women (Temporary Medicaid) is processed and forwarded to the Department of Children and Families for further consideration.

You can also apply for medicaid through Access Florida.

Note:  Pregnancy Tests are available for women in need of a test for eligibility determination purposes.

Debt Management Services- To help you meet your healthcare expenses, DOH-Orange is pleased to offer a convenient extended payment plan. Clients who participate will choose from one of three payment options available. For more information please contact the Debt Management Counselor at: 407-836-1223.
