Vital Statistics

Change in Service Locations:

Effective July 1, 2011, the health department will no longer have Vital Statistics offices at the Apopka Health Center and at Winter Park Memorial Hospital.

Vital statistics offices will remain open at the following three Orange County Health Department locations:

Central Health office at 807 West Church Street,
Orlando Health Campus at 44 Lake Beauty Dr, 4th Floor,
Clarcona Ocoee driver’s license office at 4101 Clarcona Ocoee Road

The Office of Vital Statistics holds official records for births in the State of Florida and deaths in Orange County.

You may need a certified copy of a birth or death certificate in order to:

Obtain a Passport
Enroll in School
Participate in Sports
Apply for Food Stamps, Housing, or WIC benefits
Enter Military Service
Apply for Social Security Benefits
Obtain a Driver's License
Collect Death Benefits or Life Insurance
Take control of Family Assets such as bank accounts, pension funds, and other property (like homes or automobiles) that are held in the name of the deceased person
Probate a Will
Complete a Final Tax Return

The Orange County Health Department’s Vital Statistics Office does not process marriage licenses, divorce, probate, wills, or social security cards.

If you are interested in a marriage license or a divorce certificate please call the Clerk of Courts, Marriage Division at 407-836-2067.
