Poisoning Prevention

In recent years, a growing number of poisoning deaths are a result of the abuse and misuse of prescription drugs, especially pain and narcotic medications.

The Because I Care campaign seeks to bring about community awareness regarding medication poisoning and encourage families to make behavioral and home environmental changes.

You can help prevent medication poisoning by following these simple steps:

• Put all medications in a place that is out of the reach of children and visitors.
• Do not share medications with others.
• Properly dispose of all unused or expired medications.
