To maintain the freshness of your dairy products, select last and refrigerate first. It is recommended that these products are used by the date on the package to assure the highest quality.
When shopping for milk or cheese, play it safe. Carefully read food labels to make sure a product is pasteurized. Purchase only products that are pasteurized or made from pasteurized milk.
Raw milk and raw dairy products may carry many types of disease-causing germs such as Campylobacter, E-coli, Listeria, and Salmonella.
The CDC recommends that the following people should always avoid raw milk or raw dairy products:
