MATERNITY/PRENATAL CARE
Receiving good prenatal care is important during pregnancy. Prenatal care reduces the risk of complications and poor birth outcomes. The value of prenatal care increases the earlier in pregnancy it is received. Preterm delivery, low birth weight babies and maternal complications of pregnancy are major contributors to infant death. The prenatal period is critical to the health and growth and development of children.
