Tanning Devices

The Orange County Health Department monitors the operation of over 340 tanning devices in Orange County. All tanning devices are checked twice a year to assure that the devices are

• being maintained in good sanitary and mechanical condition,
• timers are operating properly,
• employees are properly trained,
• and warning signs are in place.

Every device must have the manufacturers recommendations attached to the machine or available on premises.

Operator must also have information concerning their liability insurance.
