Our office provides environmental assessment of residences where children have been diagnosed with elevated levels of lead in their blood. These requests usually come from our epidemiology department which receives reports from physicians. Information regarding lead in paint hazards and the appropriate abatement or cleanup measures and safety precautions is also provided.
The goal of the indoor air program is to assist the client in the management of air quality in their homes. This is accomplished by:
Our office provides a variety of Indoor Air educational material upon request. Site evaluations may include checking for air spores, ventilation rates, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and ozone levels, pollutant delineation, dust and non-specific fiber contamination, temperature, relative humidity, and pressure differentials. We try to determine the source and cause of suspected contaminants and provide recommendations for remedial action to effect resolution of the complaint. More extensive testing can be done at the expense of the requestor.

There are currently no services available from the State of Florida for indoor air quality in the workplace
other than the tobacco smoke rule.
There are three federally funded sources for workplace safety and health.
